Security Intervention Officer (Retail Tactical Security - De-escalation & Arrests) About the Role

As a Security Intervention Officer (Tactical Guard), you'll serve as a frontline safety professional in a retail environment. This role combines visible deterrence, customer service, de-escalation, and lawful arrests/recoveries. You'll be approachable yet authoritative-balancing intervention skills with professionalism to protect people, property, and brand reputation.

• Maintain a strong, visible presence to deter theft and unwanted activity
• Provide professional, customer-focused service to staff and guests
• Proactively intervene to prevent theft and disruptive behaviour
• Conduct recoveries and apprehensions in line with company procedures
• Respond to incidents quickly and de-escalate situations effectively
• Support store management in protecting people, property, and assets
• Complete clear, accurate incident reports in a timely manner

• Valid BC Security Worker License (AST)
• OFA Level 1 required (OFA 2 an asset)
• 1+ year of security experience preferred
• Retail security or loss prevention experience an asset
• Strong communication and conflict-management skills
• Ability to remain standing and alert for up to 8-hour shifts
• Professional appearance and conduct at all times
