About the Role
The Recreation Office Team Lead maintains and monitors the day-to-day operations of the recreation office and participates in the preparation of training materials, training of new staff and monitoring their progress. Provides customer service to students, staff, faculty and the public by responding to in-person, telephone, and email inquiries. Processes financial transactions (payments & refunds) using the recreation management database system;
reconciles daily financial transactions (cheques, debit, credit card) against totals from the electronic point of sales terminals and resolves conflicts related to Athletics & Recreation (A&R) services and programs (gym memberships; locker rentals and renewals; A&R program registration; and facility bookings). Supports the Manager, Recreation Programs with data collection and preparation to inform business practices and ensure smooth daily office functioning.
The Recreation Office Team Lead plays an integral role in fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment by coordinating client-facing services and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Recreation Office. In addition to proven success with leading groups, the Recreation Office Team Lead provides exceptional service to students, staff, faculty and the public, and demonstrates a strong ability to resolve client concerns.
The candidate will be an effective communicator, take initiative and have excellent organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications
High school graduation and one year of post-secondary education or formal program equivalent in word processing, database, spreadsheet, website and desktop publishing applications, office practices and leading a team. 3 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.
