SMT Operator I
Join our dynamic production team to manually assemble mechanical and electronic components of high-density products. You will work at a station, utilizing computer systems to access assembly instructions and diagrams, ensuring adherence to SOPs and quality standards. This role involves repetitive and detail-oriented tasks, such as component preparation, placement, installation, and final assembly using hand tools.
Responsibilities- Manually assemble electronic components in line with production standards.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and quality standards.
- Prepare, place, and install components, and perform final assembly and packing.
- Use hand tools like torque screwdrivers, changing bits as needed.
- Install, mount, and fasten parts, components, wiring, and harnesses to sub-assemblies and assemblies.
- Experience with testing and troubleshooting using test equipment and tools.
- Proficiency in soldering and rework.
- Good English communication skills for understanding assembly documentation.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in SharePoint and completing paperwork.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Capacity to lift up to 40 lbs on a non-repetitive basis.
- Ability to accurately distinguish different colors.
- Experience with soldering is a nice-to-have skill.
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn.
- Good teamwork skills and a desire to maintain a positive work environment.

Work EnvironmentWork in a large, organized, clean, and quiet facility with multiple departments. Occasionally, you may be exposed to dust, solder, metals, and high noise levels. Dress code includes a smock, shoe covers, ear plugs, and goggles, with closed‑to‑e shoes required.
The shift is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnaby, BC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
