Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values‑driven individual to join our dynamic team as an Instrumentation Technician. In this position, you will play a key role in providing instrumentation, operational, and emergency response support in a multi‑skilled work environment that promotes public safety, environmental stewardship, and pipeline integrity.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in instrumentation calibration, troubleshooting, control systems, and maintenance documentation. This position offers the opportunity to support the safe and reliable operation of critical pipeline and terminal infrastructure while working closely with Operations, Maintenance, and other technical groups.

The Instrumentation Technician will follow a shift‑schedule of 12.33 Hours per shift on a day / night rotation. This position will be based at the Burnaby / Westridge Terminal location and will report to the Shift Operations Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain process instrumentation, communication networks, and control equipment, including flow computers, tank gauging systems, custody‑transfer metering, and associated systems.
  • Utilize electrical and instrumentation drawing sets and schematics; update as‑built documentation as required.
  • Support programming and troubleshooting of Local Operator Interfaces and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), with Rockwell PLC and HMI software as the current Trans Mountain standard.
  • Provide instrumentation support and maintenance to ensure equipment and system reliability.
  • Perform and document instrumentation maintenance tasks as defined by maintenance tracking software.
  • Analyze, interpret, and apply information from SCADA systems, HMI displays, and P& to ensure safe facility operations.
  • Support Emergency Response initiatives, including required training and participation in exercises and scenarios.
  • Provide operational support to ensure throughput and system reliability.
  • Support marine vessel mooring and release activities.
  • Assist other technical groups, including maintenance and operations, as needed.
  • Provide contractor oversight and performance monitoring.
