Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values‑driven individual to join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Maintenance (Millwright) Technician. In this position, you will play a key role in providing mechanical, operational, and emergency response support in a multi‑skilled work environment that promotes public safety, environmental stewardship, and pipeline integrity.

This position offers the opportunity to support the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of critical pipeline and terminal facilities while working in close collaboration with Operations and other technical groups.

The Mechanical Technician will follow a day-shift-schedule of 12.33 Hours per shift on a rotation. This position will be based at the Burnaby / Westridge Terminal location and will report to the Shift Operations Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain rotating equipment, motors, pumps, valves, mechanical seals, samplers, mixers, thermal relief valves, full‑flow relief valves, flow meters, and other related mechanical equipment.
  • Perform and document mechanical maintenance activities as defined by maintenance tracking software, ensuring equipment reliability and integrity.
  • Analyze, interpret, and apply information from SCADA systems, HMI displays, and P& to support safe facility operations.
  • Support Emergency Response initiatives, including required training and participation in exercises.
  • Provide operational support to ensure system throughput and reliability.
  • Assist other technical groups—including maintenance and operations—as required.
  • Participate in emergency response exercises and scenarios.
  • Provide oversight and monitoring of contractors working on site.
  • Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • High school completion.
  • Journeyman Certificate (Red Seal Millwright and/or TQ Endorsement) required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working in an industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot rotating equipment.
  • Welding and pipefitting experience are assets.
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems is an asset.
  • Familiarity with process control and hydro testing is an asset.
