Role Overview
Kodak’s Center for Imaging Excellence is looking for Optical Mechanical Technicians in Vancouver, B.C. We are looking for talented technicians who are excited by the possibility of working in the high tech sector. This role will be well suited to a person who enjoys working with small, high precision components and assemblies.
Position Summary- You will be responsible for the production of various optical, mechanical and electronic assemblies and their overall production process. This will include assembly, testing, quality assessment and troubleshooting to support delivering products on-time with quality workmanship.
- Maintenance of equipment used is also a component of this role.
- You will deliver product with quality workmanship in a timely manner.
- You are able to prioritize production activities to maximize the team’s output in collaboration with the Team Leader.
- Escalate production issues to Team Leader to minimize delays in production.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to identify and close quality/reliability concerns.
- Testing complete optical systems which will include: collecting data under controlled conditions, recording data from those test, processing the film, assessing image quality.
- Kodak is committed to caring for our environment; other important activities will include determining production methods and working with the Team Lead to eliminate production wastes.
- Experience in mechanical, optical, electrical assembly preferred or equivalent education, however we would be willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to follow and understand SOPs, provide feedback and suggest improvements to processes desirable.
- Appreciation of production systems including MRP, ECO's, non-conformance reports, and inventory transactions including cycle count to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Attention to detail and meticulous work habits.
- Comfortable working on very small complex assemblies.
- Positive working attitude.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to lift a 17kg weight multiple times per day.
- Experience in traditional still or movie photography and darkroom skills would be an asset.
