Salary

$127,112 - $149,543 (Annually)

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director Regional Development, the Senior Manager, Regional Development Services will manage the planning and delivery of complex and diverse social, affordable and mixed‑market housing, group home, and specialized development projects through all phases—from initiation to warranty inspection and occupancy—within the assigned region. The role includes evaluating development proposals, approving designs, construction specifications, cost estimates, and schedules; advising on non‑profit society consultant selection;

negotiating and monitoring contracts; and conducting due diligence to protect BC Housing’s interests.

Candidate Profile Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, or other relevant field.
  • Significant project management experience related to multi‑unit residential housing, including the non‑profit sector.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, municipal land use entitlements, real‑estate issues, and partnership agreements.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in project management philosophies and practices (scope, budgeting, scheduling, quality assurance).
  • Knowledge of multi‑unit residential real‑estate financing and underwriting criteria.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project and contract management processes.
  • Ability to learn BC Housing’s mandate, programs, policies and operating requirements.
  • Ability to develop and analyze multi‑unit residential real‑estate capital and operating budget pro‑formas.
  • Capacity to plan, develop, manage, control and evaluate a portfolio of development projects requiring complex stakeholder management.
  • Strong prioritization, resource reallocation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and relationship‑management skills.
  • Leadership, mentorship, and facilitation abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
