As the Manager, Talent Development, you will build and scale manager and leadership development ’ll work closely with leaders and the Talent team to assess learning needs and deliver practical, high-impact development that helps managers keep pace with rapid growth.
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for a small team today, and the opportunity to grow and shape the function as the organization scales.
Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.
Meaningful work you will be a part ofYour responsibilities will be to:
- Assess manager and leadership learning needs using leader input, engagement data, attrition trends, and business priorities.
- Design, build, and deliver manager and leadership development programs, including core foundations for new managers and targeted development for senior managers and directors.
- Set clear expectations, standards, and core skills for people managers and leaders.
- Create a simple, scalable leadership development continuum from emerging leaders (supported by the Learning Specialist) to senior leaders.
- Personally facilitate manager and leadership training and continuously iterate content based on feedback and evolving business needs.
- Build practical leadership tools, frameworks, and learning pathways that leaders can apply immediately.
- Lead and support a small talent development team, providing direction, coaching, and prioritization, with scope to grow the team over time.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, Training, and Communications to align leadership development end-to-end.
- Track and share insights on manager readiness, engagement signals, and early attrition with the VP, Talent.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of progressive experience assessing learning needs and building manager or leadership development in a scaling or high-growth organization.
- Experience leading or mentoring others, with interest in growing a team as the function scales.
- Strong understanding of first-time manager challenges and senior leader development needs.
- Hands-on facilitation experience and comfort building programs from the ground up.
- Strong stakeholder partnership skills and the ability to influence without formal structures.
- Data-informed, pragmatic, and biased toward action.
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting.
