THE ROLE

Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Finance will be responsible for leading corporate accounting, external financial reporting under IFRS, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A). This role will oversee core accounting functions, ensure timely and accurate public company reporting, and provide financial insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on finance leader who is comfortable operating in a public company environment, partnering with senior leadership, and mentoring a high-performing finance team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timelinessOversee general ledger, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial controlsEnsure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and best practicesOversee the preparation and review of external financial statements in accordance with IFRSLead quarterly and annual public company reporting, including MD&A and supporting schedulesAct as a key point of contact for external auditors and manage the year-end audit processMonitor and implement new accounting standards and regulatory requirementsLead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processesProvide variance analysis, financial modeling, and performance insights to senior leadershipPartner with business leaders to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and operational improvementsLead, mentor, and develop the corporate accounting and FP&A teamsFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaborationSupport talent development, succession planning, and performance managementDrive process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data qualitySupport financial systems, reporting tools, and automation initiativesContribute to special projects, including M&A, system implementations, or organizational growth initiativesQUALIFICATIONS
CPA designation required10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership rolesStrong experience in a publicly listed company environment and external financial reporting (IFRS)Proven experience overseeing FP&A, budgeting, and forecastingBackground in audit (Big 4 or mid-tier) is an assetAdvanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP systems requiredStrong technical accounting and financial reporting expertiseStrategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsHands-on leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and detailed levelsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesWhy Join?
