Accounting Manager

Currently, they are looking to add an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join their team. This is a 2–3 month contract role, with the possibility of extension or transition into a permanent position.
About the position
Reporting to the CEO, the accounting manager will be responsible for overseeing the full cycle accounting function. Some of the duties include but aren’t limited to:
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end close activities.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Develop and monitor budgets, perform variance analysis, manage tax filings, and oversee treasury functions.
Support grant reporting requirements and contribute to investment and financing decisions.
Lead financial system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.
Administer payroll while ensuring compliance with BC employment standards and applicable regulations.
Strengthen internal controls and enhance accounting policies and procedures.
Prepare comprehensive year-end working papers and ensure compliance with CRA guidelines, funder requirements, and relevant legislation.
Coordinate the preparation of internal and external financial reports, including regulatory filings.
Supervise, support, and mentor members of the finance team.
Ad hoc duties as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $55 to $58 an hour
Requirements
5+ years of accounting experience
Designated CPA
Non-for-profit experience is an asset
5 days in office role.
