Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation, and we have obtained FDA approval for the Globe® Pulsed Field System, a revolutionary solution that is already being adopted by leading physicians.
This role is a hybrid work arrangement located in Burnaby, BC.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, improve, and support the software, firmware, and electronics of Kardium’s custom automated equipment; examples include lasers, multi‑axis motion systems, pneumatic valves, and heaters.
- Design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of object‑oriented software (typically C# and Java) and firmware (various languages).
- Select and integrate control system electronics.
- Capture and document requirements for custom automated equipment.
- Organize and participate in multidisciplinary design reviews.
- Transfer the custom automated equipment to its end user and provide ongoing support.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience working in this field.
- Object‑oriented software development skills and knowledge.
- Experience developing firmware and electronics (e.g., PCB design, wiring harnesses, component selection) for embedded systems.
- Experience implementing machinery safety control systems per ISO‑13849.
- Experience implementing temperature, motion, or other physical control systems, considering relevant codes and standards.
- $108,000 – $170,000 (CAD annually) plus a 5% RRSP contribution and participation in Kardium’s stock option plan.
