Assistant Instructor who is an enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with broad practical knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
The department of Mechanical Engineering at
BCIToffers diplomas and an accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering. The primary goal of the programs is to graduate highly-qualified, practical mechanical technologists and engineers who are eligible for professional registration.
The successful applicant can expect to provide lab and tutorial assistance across a broad range of the mechanical engineering discipline. The applicant must have a strong commitment to teaching and interacting with students, an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and an interest in delivering quality curriculum.
Labs and TutorialsThe Assistant Instructor may lead labs and tutorials in some of the following areas:
- Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals (statics, dynamics, strength of materials)
- Engineering Graphics andCAD
- Manual andCNCMachining
- Mechatronics (Automation, Robotics), Microcontrollers, Industrial Control, PLCs
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related credential.
- Relevant industry experience in an engineering environment.
- Proficient in engineering computer applications including strong
CADskills. - Strong digital literacy skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English Language.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Instructional experience is an asset.
- Programming (C/C++/Python) experience is an asset.

Salary Range: $68,182 - $93,143 per annum
Additional Salary Information:
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
