We are looking for an Intermediate Sustaining Electrical Engineer to help launch Kardium’s high-performance medical devices. In this role, you will work hands-on supporting and improving the next generation of the Globe® Pulsed Field System.
Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

The Intermediate Sustaining Electrical Engineer position combines development and support responsibilities. You will work as part of a highly collaborative team to bring project pieces together. If you are passionate about DFM, DFT and design support and improvement, this is an excellent opportunity to fulfill this desire and ensure a top-tier medical device continues to meet customer needs.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Identifying and implementing changes to current circuit board designs to align with Design for Manufacturing and Design for Test principles.
- Specification and/or design of test fixtures and circuits for automated testing of printed circuit board assemblies
- Interfacing with manufacturers to identify and transfer appropriate testing activities
- Complex system level debugging (e.g. multi-board systems with multiple processors, firmware, RF, communication links, etc.)
- Supporting root cause investigations of technical failures
- Supporting the NPI team in production process development for predominantly electrical products (e.g. controllers)
- Supporting the service team in service procedure development for predominantly electrical products (e.g. controllers)

Must‑Have
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering
- Skills and knowledge typically associated with a minimum of three years’ experience in the design and manufacture of complex electronic systems with exposure to sustaining engineering.
- Experience with electronics CAD tools, preferably Altium Designer
- Basic understanding of automated test development for circuit boards
- Board level analog and digital circuit design experience
- Proven ability to meet tight timelines
- Structured, logical thinker with excellent judgment and pragmatic work approach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively across multiple disciplines and functions at various levels of the organization
