Discover opportunities to deliver major wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations as part of AECOM’s treatment plants team. You will work in a team to deliver advanced wastewater treatment and large pumping station projects for municipal clients in British Columbia, with an emphasis on innovative, sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving project delivery, technical and client challenges; determine technical objectives, organize programs, and develop standards for technical activities.
- Work effectively within a team environment and communicate with project team members and customers.
- Perform assignments applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Undertake preliminary and detailed engineering design activities.
- Develop details of work in selecting engineering options and adaptations of alternatives.
- Develop engineering designs, sketches, diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Complete technical calculations to support design decisions and prepare technical reports and plans.
- Review quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy.
- Support delivery of infrastructure to municipal water and wastewater clients; provide construction administration and field services, including reviewing construction progress in the field.
- Coordinate the work of a multi-discipline team of engineers and pursue new water/wastewater projects with private and municipal clients.
- Engage in professional development and industry events.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Process).
- 6+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency in municipal water/wastewater design and engineering.
- Familiarity with industry standards and strong working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment design and engineering.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in the province of BC (or eligible to become registered within 12 months).
Preferred Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Motivated, team player, independent, organized with strong business acumen; experience in consulting and project management; ability to write proposals and obtain new work.
- Good working knowledge of industry standards and local municipal guidelines; excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Willing to travel to active construction sites and provide field review services.
- Proficient with common software (Excel, Word, MS Project, PowerPoint).
- Class 5 BC Driver’s license in good standing.
Offered rate of compensation based on education, qualifications, and experience. The range for this position is CAD 110,000 to CAD 175,000 per year.
