Phasor Engineering Inc. is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting company with offices located in Burnaby, BC and Calgary, AB. We provide engineering design services for utility companies, industrial companies, and municipalities. This is a staff Civil/Structural Engineer position in our Burnaby, BC office, offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements- Detailed technical knowledge of structural engineering design, including steel and concrete structures, shallow and deep foundations.
- Knowledge of Civil works including site preparation, earthworks and retaining walls.
- Professional knowledge of applicable Canadian codes and standards.
- Proficient in STAAD-Pro software and experience with AutoCAD; familiarity with other structural engineering software such as RISA is an asset.
- Strong understanding of safety in design principles.
- Ability to lead a small to medium‑size design project from start to completion with minimal oversight.
- Ability to mentor/provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Results‑oriented and self‑driven with experience juggling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Strong and confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to produce clear documentation and explain technical concepts to internal and external parties.
- Client‑focused; attend client meetings and maintain good working relationships with clients.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant Civil/Structural engineering experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
- Previous experience working on Industrial Civil projects.
- Previous experience working in an EPC environment.
- Previous experience in electrical HV substation design for utility companies.
