Role DescriptionThis is a volunteer, on-site role for a Volunteer Instructor at Community Centred College For The Retired, located in Burnaby, BC. The Volunteer Instructor will lead educational sessions or workshops on topics of expertise, develop lesson plans, and engage with participants to foster a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. Additional responsibilities include providing feedback, assisting participants with their learning goals, and collaborating with staff to ensure program success.
Qualifications- Experience in teaching, training, or facilitating workshops
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with participants
- Knowledge and expertise in a specific subject area or practical skill relevant to the community
- Organizational and time management skills to plan and deliver structured activities effectively
- Enthusiasm for working with retired individuals and fostering a positive learning environment
- Patience, empathy, and a collaborative approach to teaching
- Previous experience in community service or volunteer work is a plus
