Overview
The School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver campus, invites applications for one full-time non-tenure track faculty position at the Lecturer rank with expertise in nursing clinical skills lab and simulation education. The role will serve as the Skill Lab Coordinator for the School. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of reappointment subject to demonstrated excellence in teaching and funding availability.
The successful candidate will be involved in teaching, course planning, laboratory teaching, orienting and guiding clinical instructors supporting the lab sections, collaborating with the simulation coordinator and the skills lab technicians to manage equipment inventory, supervising lab technicians in setting up and maintaining equipment, and providing service to the University, the School, and to the profession.

Responsibilities- Teach nursing clinical skills and simulation education; plan courses and supervise laboratory activities.
- Orient and guide clinical instructors supporting lab sections; collaborate with the simulation coordinator.
- Manage equipment inventory and supervise lab technicians in setting up and maintaining equipment.
- Provide service to the University, the School, and the profession.
- Current credential as a Registered Nurse with registration in the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- A Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Clinical experience in acute care settings (medical-surgical required; additional experience in perinatal, pediatrics, emergency, or ICU nursing preferred).
- Experience teaching nursing students in academic settings or direct clinical supervision in practice; experience teaching clinical nursing skills.
- Simulation teaching experience is a plus.
- Experience in group learning facilitation, laboratory instruction, course administration, and supervision or mentoring of nurses or clinical instructors is desirable.
Salary will be commensurate with level of educational preparation and experience. Expected salary range: $100,000/year to $125,000/year.
