This Volunteer Placement is Located in: Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Start Date: March 2026

Placement Length: 5 months

Language Requirements: Spanish Level 4-Advanced and English Level 3-Intermediate

The Volunteer’s Role

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Evaluate the current communications strategy to refine and update it, and create a social media plan that aligns with significant dates and weeks throughout the year.
  • Oversee graphic design initiatives for the organization, including infographics, social media content, photographs, and covers for reports and publications.
  • Administer the organization's website and social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and You Tube.
  • Organize monthly communications meetings with other teams to gain insights into their projects and highlight their work through social media, articles, photography, and design.
  • Essential Requirements:

  • A university degree and equivalent experience in communications, journalism, public relations, social marketing, media management, or a related field.
  • Essential Background:

  • Engagement in cyberactivism, emphasizing advocacy campaigns and championing women’s rights
  • Overseeing information and communication technologies (ICT), such as websites, blogs, social media, and video editing
  • Handling communications related to press, radio, television, and photography
  • Fostering public relations
  • Crafting reports, news articles, and press releases

    Volunteer Support and Requirements

    Support Package

    Cuso International provides a comprehensive support package to ensure volunteers maintain a modest and healthy lifestyle aligned with local standards. This includes:

    If you are shortlisted, you will need to:

  • Confirm passport or permanent resident details for travel
  • Provide two professional references and one personal reference
  • Complete a language assessment during the initial phone interview
  • Pass a police check and medical clearance before departure
  • Comply with anti-terrorism checks
  • Agree to uphold the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy and Code of Conduct
  • Residency and Citizenship: Candidates are responsible for confirming how volunteering internationally may affect their citizenship or residency status. Canadian Permanent Residents should verify requirements with Immigration Canada before travel.
