Under the guidance of the Music Technician, the Music Technology Student Assistant will assist with the preparation of audio recordings of music department concerts for archival purposes.
Responsibilities- Assist with the recording of music department events.
- Assist with mixing recordings of music department concerts.
- Assist with classification and archiving of recordings of music department concerts.
- Music Technology Program students preferred.
- Computer experience or experience with sound and recording equipment is an asset.
Domestic students must meet ONE of the following criteria to be eligible to work as a Student Assistant/Student Research Assistant:
- Enrolled and maintaining a minimum of one (3 credit) course at Douglas College throughout the work term, OR
- Enrolled and maintaining a minimum of one (3 credit) course at Douglas College in the term immediately preceding the work term and indicated intention to enroll at the college in the term immediately following, OR
- Enrolled and maintaining a minimum of two (3 credit) courses at another accredited public post‑secondary institution in B.C. throughout the work term, OR
- Enrolled and maintaining a minimum of two (3 credit) courses at another accredited public post‑secondary institution in B.C. in the term immediately preceding the work term and indicated intention to enroll at the institution in the term immediately following.
International students must meet ONE of the following criteria:
- Enrolled full‑time at Douglas College throughout the academic year, OR
- Not a Douglas College student but an international student at another accredited public post‑secondary institution in B.C., with a valid Study Permit that permits on‑or‑off‑campus employment per R186, and proof of full‑time studies from that institution.
Original copies of a Social Insurance Number (SIN) and a Study Permit are required by law before commencing work at Douglas College. Qualified Douglas College students meeting the above criteria will be given first preference.
