Senior Accountant to- Potential

Position: Senior Accountant |  | Contract-to-Permanent Potential
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to support and perform essential accounting duties within our Americas General Accounting department. The successful candidate will take ownership of various financial processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and maintaining a strong internal control environment.

Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Month-End:
Accurately prepare and record complex monthly journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconciliations & Forecasting:
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations and assist with forecasting expenses for assigned accounts.
- Audit & Compliance:
Support internal and external audit requests, maintain Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, and identify potential control weaknesses.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Coordinate with plant accountants, department heads, and third-party providers to gather data for analysis and forecasting.
- Process Improvement:
Suggest and implement improvements to financial controls and maintain detailed process documentation.
- Mentorship:
Act as a point of contact for general accounting queries and serve as a mentor to staff accountants.
- Analysis:
Create complex tables and packages for quarter-end and year-end analysis on high-priority accounts.

Qualifications

- Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required; CPA designation is preferred.

- Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Technical

Skills:

Advanced Excel skills

- Soft Skills:

Must be a self-starter with the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment regarding confidential matters.
- Adaptability:
Ability to learn new systems quickly and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
