As a company in the process of expanding our team, we are looking for an Accountant to contribute to our continued growth and success.
OverviewThe Accountant will be responsible for managing the day‑to‑day corporate and project‑related accounting functions. This role offers potential for rapid career progression within a small, dynamic team. Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant’s responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities- Process full‑cycle accounts payable, including invoice coding, matching, and vendor reconciliation.
- Manage subcontractor draw applications, payment schedules, and vendor communication.
- Ensure timely vendor payments and prepare regular bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and cash flow tracking as needed.
- Price check against approved agreements and set up payment schedules.
- Support funding and contract reporting, including lender compliance and year‑end audit.
- Coordinate invoice approvals and collaborate across teams to resolve accounting issues.
- Aid Controller with system conversion requirements.
- Improve accounting processes and provide administrative support as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 2 years of full cycle accounting experience, including construction accounts payable, preferably in real estate development or construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills; experience with Yardi is an asset.
- Excellent communication, organization, and data entry skills with superior attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and schedules.
