American Bin and Conveyor is looking for Welder Fabricators at its Burlington, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. This position reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for welding, fitting, and fabricating metal components based on blueprints and measurements. This is a multi‑skilled position that requires a keen eye for detail, strong math skills, and the ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
Responsibilities- Use measuring devices to assist in layout and fit of steel for welding.
- Align and fit parts according to drawing specifications.
- Weld pieces together in flat, vertical, or overhead positions to create the completed product according to documented print.
- Grind and smooth edges for a finished product.
- Inspect completed work pieces for defects such as deformed edges and marred surfaces.
- Initiate and maintain good housekeeping practices in all work areas.
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures and safe work habits.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Minimum 3 years’ welding experience preferred.
- 2 years’ fitting experience preferred.
- Ability to read prints and use measuring tools.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Attention to detail required to prevent injury to self and others.
- Agree to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the company.
Successfully pass a pre‑employment background check, drug screen, and physical.
Physical Demands & Work Environment- Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, heat, cold, rain, or snow and environmental conditions that expose workers to many odors, fumes, materials, substances and particulate matter over which the company has no control and often no forewarning of existence unless they are hazardous materials. exposure to loud or repetitive noises may occur. - Typical physical movements in welding, including pulling or pushing, bending, stooping, standing, squatting, climbing, or kneeling.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Use upper extremities to apply or exert a force up to 20 pounds.
- Wear personnel protective equipment at all times (e.g., welding helmets, safety glasses, work boots, face shields, etc.) as required per project.
- Ability to handle job stress, interact effectively with others, and concentrate on a task over a period of time without distraction.
