Research Engineer Summary Of Position

The Research Engineer I supports research and development initiatives by conducting hands‑on experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting in process improvements. This entry‑level role is ideal for candidates with a strong technical foundation who are eager to develop expertise in advanced manufacturing and product testing environments.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct experiments as directed and execute testing with limited oversight.
  • Collect, process, and validate data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Utilize Excel for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory and production equipment.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives within R&D.
  • Assist with projects, taking ownership of defined tasks and potentially leading one to two smaller‑scale projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to execute research and development objectives.
  • Learn from senior engineers while providing guidance to interns as needed.
  • Implement established R&D procedures and document findings through reports and technical notes.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to follow established protocols and work effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with additional technical software is a plus.
  • Passion for innovative technology and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team‑based research environment.
  • Adaptability, curiosity, and willingness to thrive in a dynamic R&D setting.
Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Hands‑on experience in an R&D or manufacturing setting (internship or academic laboratory experience acceptable).
Preferred
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes or materials science.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for laboratory or production equipment.
