The Quality Technician II is responsible for ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance across manufacturing operations. This role represents an advanced level within the quality function and requires strong experience in quality control, inspection, and continuous improvement processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect product samples using appropriate industry-standard methods
  • Ensure production and assembly processes comply with established standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Review and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to verify product conformity
  • Document inspection results, including rework and scrap, and enter data into quality tracking systems
  • Train and support production personnel on quality standards and inspection techniques
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce waste
  • Monitor equipment usage to ensure safety and compliance; remove nonconforming tools or equipment from service
  • Perform testing and inspections at multiple stages of the manufacturing process
  • Collect, analyze, and compile statistical quality data
  • Assist in developing inspection plans, test methods, and work instructions
  • Investigate root causes of defects and scrap and support corrective actions
  • Verify proper calibration and functionality of inspection and measurement equipment
  • Perform quality inspections on raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods in accordance with work instructions
  • Recommend updates to work instructions to improve product performance and reduce scrap
  • Support production teams with quality and process-related issues in collaboration with management
  • Prepare statistical reports and quality summaries as required
  • Maintain and use measurement instruments in accordance with work instructions and safety requirements
  • Monitor and suggest improvements to process parameters and production recipes
  • Audit production operations and recommend enhancements to quality control tools and methods
  • Provide regular quality updates and reports to management via email
Skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while recognizing when to seek assistance
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office applications (including Excel), and statistical software
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
Education and/or Experience
  • Manufacturing experience in a technical or quality-related role
  • Experience in photovoltaic module manufacturing is preferred
