  • Supports the Director of Safety by developing and maintaining safety, health, and transportation programs while ensuring all training and practices meet regulatory requirements
  • Promotes a strong safety culture by guiding teams, providing technical coaching, and leading training on regulations, hazard controls, emergency response, equipment use, and other safety practices.
  • Leads incident investigations, monitors corrective actions, manages workers’ compensation and return‑to‑work processes, and conducts audits of facilities, equipment, and records for compliance.
  • Oversees routine facility inspections, enforces suspension of unsafe activities, and maintains FMCSA, driver qualification, and vehicle registration documentation.
  • Communicates effectively with employees, leadership, regulatory agencies, and external partners to support safety initiatives and compliance efforts.
  • Ensures consistent safety performance across the organization through ongoing training, mentoring, and collaboration with safety committees and project teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, along with 3+ years managing safety or transportation programs.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, investigative, and multi‑tasking skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office.
  • Meets essential job requirements, including the ability to lift up to 30 lbs, maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record, travel up to 25%, and pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
  • Preferred experience includes workers’ compensation case management, DOT‑regulated fleet or transportation operations, and knowledge of agricultural or fuel‑related safety practices.
  • Brings strong attention to detail and the ability to support safety and compliance functions across varied operational settings.
