Industry: Solar Panel Manufacturing / Renewable Energy Location: Burlington, WA Compensation: $28-32/hr
Our client, a rapidly growing solar panel manufacturing organization, is seeking an EHS Specialist to support and drive environmental, health, and safety initiatives across their manufacturing operations. This role will focus on maintaining regulatory compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting continuous improvement in EHS performance within a high-volume, technical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of EHS policies, procedures, and programs in a manufacturing setting.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and applicable environmental permits.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses; track findings and corrective actions to closure.
- Support incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and root cause analysis; assist in developing corrective and preventive actions.
- Deliver safety training and onboarding programs for manufacturing employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Assist with environmental compliance activities, including waste management, chemical handling, air emissions, wastewater, and stormwater programs.
- Maintain EHS documentation, metrics, and reporting, including safety KPIs, injury logs, and regulatory records.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, and HR to support safe equipment installation, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support internal and external audits and inspections, including regulatory agency visits.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, communication, and participation initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; renewable energy or high-tech manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting environmental programs such as hazardous waste, chemical management, and sustainability initiatives preferred.
