The FOH (Front of House) team member is a trusted, respected, and engaged key staff member who embodies our values and positively influences the team. Responsibilities include maintaining standards, resolving conflicts, owning guest turnarounds, communicating positively, exemplifying service standards, staying organized, executing side work, and demonstrating professionalism and enthusiasm for our shared vision.
The goal is to ensure the restaurant operates smoothly, with a system that is clean, organized, well-prepared, and communicative. A crucial aspect of this role is being a cohesive team player on the floor and in service stations, setting the tone and maintaining momentum to execute quality shifts and deliver memorable guest experiences. QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations)
- Food Handlers certification (must comply with State regulations)
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Ability to evaluate and choose among alternative actions quickly and accurately.
- Work effectively under stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Perform pre/post shift cleaning and organization to ensure smooth service.
- Participate positively in Compass Meetings with the Manager or GM.
- Provide timely and informative Shift Notes, including shift critique and critical notes for the next day.
- Engage in shifts with positivity, momentum, and focus to create memorable experiences.
- Cultivate positive guest experiences from greeting to farewell, ensuring quality food and drink, recognition, and gracious goodbyes.
- Support our culture of teamwork, maintaining quality relationships with co-workers.
- Promote proper communication, idea sharing, cooperation, consensus building, and problem solving within the restaurant.
- Assist in training and support a team of hospitality professionals as a peer and role model, focusing on policies, service standards, cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail.
- Participate in continuous improvement through open, collaborative communication.
- Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
- Meet certification requirements such as Alcohol Awareness and Food Handlers as applicable.
- Familiarize with restaurant organization and functions of each job position.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menus and specials.
- Serve guests warmly, courteously, and professionally.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables as needed.
- Handle cashiering duties, including closing checks and shift paperwork.
- Perform opening and closing procedures and side work as assigned.
- Keep tables and service stations stocked, tidy, and clean.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.
