Posting SummaryThe Department of Emergency Medicine is looking for someone who can perform complex laboratory tasks in support of a research laboratory studying the vascular responses to trauma and sterile inflammation. Work with cell culture and animal models, assist in design and conduct of experiments, analyze data and prepare scientific reports.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)- Bachelor’s degree in scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related science)
- More than 1 year experience in micro-dissection, arteriography, intravital or live cell video microscopy, tissue culture, flow cytometry, electrophysiology, cell/molecular biology, or related vascular biology approaches.
- Proficiency with software to compile, manage and analyze video imaging, genomic or other complex research data
- Evidence of writing, organizational and communication skills such as research publications or presentations.
- Experience with mouse anesthesia and surgery
- Experience with microdissection
- Experience with arteriography
- Experience with intravital or live cell video microscopy
- Experience working with cultured endothelial cells
- Experience with flow cytometry / cell sorting
- Experience with cell/molecular biology/ CRISPR approaches
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently highly desirable.
