Job Details- Position: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – M4 Medical ICU (MICU)
- Location: Burlington, VT 05401 (On-site) — Burlington, Vermont travel nursing jobs / Vermont critical care jobs

- Unit: M4 MICU (Medical ICU, overflow neuro)
- Float Requirement: No floating required
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum every other weekend; schedule may be adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
- Transportation: Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (public transportation is limited); all-season or snow tires required November–April
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a large, teaching facility—required for critical care RN and MICU travel nurse roles
- Travel Experience: Prior travel/contract RN experience required
- License: Active RN license (must be on file at time of submission)
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required prior to start; CCRN preferred
- EMR: Epic experience within the past 2 years (required)
- Clinical Skills: IV starts, management of multiple titratable drips, advanced ventilator/respiratory care, CRRT, IABP, ECMO, COVID/respiratory critical care
- Work History: Complete nursing work history required; be prepared to explain any employment gaps over 90 days
- Deliver expert bedside care for critically ill patients in the Medical ICU (M4 MICU), including overflow neuro cases — role suited for experienced ICU RNs and critical care nurses
- Initiate and maintain IV access; manage and titrate multiple vasoactive and titratable drips
- Provide advanced ventilator management and collaborate closely with respiratory therapy and the interdisciplinary critical care team
- Care for patients with complex multi-system disease processes, including those requiring CRRT, IABP, ECMO, and specialized respiratory support
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in Epic EMR, ensuring accurate clinical records for ICU patient care
- Participate in rapid response and emergent situations with strong critical thinking, assessment, and prioritization skills
- Ensure continuity of care through thorough handoffs, clear communication, and collaborative teamwork
