Overview
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Food Service Workers are essential in feeding everyone within the hospital. They may help with preparing a patient's meal tray for delivery, delivery of meals to patient rooms, dishwashing, separating trash/recycle/compost, and re-stocking supplies.
- Prepare a patient's meal tray for delivery
- Deliver meals to patient rooms
- Dishwashing
- Separate trash/recycle/compost
- Re-stock supplies
- Interact with patients and work as part of a team; stand and walk for long periods; move large carts throughout the hospital. Navigation skills are helpful.
- Education:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred, minimum 18 years of age. - Experience:
Prior experience in a high-volume, fast-paced food service environment is preferred. - Knowledge/
Skills:
Ability to read, speak, write and understand English. Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to follow basic oral and written instructions. Meets the physical demands of the job, including standing for extended periods of time and walking long distances. Must be dependable - no excessive absenteeism/tardiness - per department policy. Understands and follows safety and sanitation procedures.
Base Pay:
Hourly rates starting at $20.00/hour and up based on experience. Evening/weekend/night shift workers receive a differential, depending upon which shift is worked.
