Role Summary
The Oncology Diagnostic Liaison plans and executes the Pathology / Diagnostic Market and Access strategy for the assigned region, liaising with pathology groups, diagnostic groups, and reference laboratories to build a core diagnostic foundation for current and future pipeline products. The role requires autonomy and self-drive, reporting to the Commercial Diagnostics Leader.
Responsibilities- Under the general direction of the Pfizer Oncology Commercial Diagnostics Leader, plan and execute all aspects of the organization’s Pathology / Diagnostic Market and Access strategy for the assigned region.
- Develop key messaging and education tactics within the region to positively impact pathology targets.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regional pathology groups, diagnostic groups, and key stakeholders of reference laboratories and institutional accounts to build and maintain a core diagnostic foundation for current and future pipeline products.
- Educate pathologists on new therapy driven emerging biomarkers and their utility (pre and post approval).
- Establish laboratory relationships within the regional pathology and oncologist community to improve ordering of the right test at the right time with proper protocols for patient identification and diagnosis.
- Attend diagnostic advisory boards and pathology congresses as needed to network, influence, and raise awareness of diagnostic testing related to Pfizer Oncology therapies.
- Monitor developments in the therapeutic area and discuss all aspects of patient biopsy, tissue journey, and diagnostic challenges.

5+ years of industry experience. - Required:
Bachelor’s degree. - Required:
Experience working with and training pathologists on emerging data for accurate IHC testing and reporting. - Required:
Deep laboratory experience or understanding of workflows within academic/community institutions and national/regional reference labs. - Required:
Ability to develop and execute a territory/regional plan to impact pathology targets and drive education with key messaging. - Required:
Experience presenting complex information to stakeholders/decision makers (e.g., pathologists, oncologists, lab technologists, executives). - Required:
Passion for improving oncology patient outcomes; creative thinking with a sense of urgency; strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration. - Preferred:
Oncology experience with in-depth knowledge of diagnostics in Lung, GI, GU, and Hematology. - Preferred:
Understanding of hospital EMRs and Laboratory LIS; knowledge of testing methodologies including IHC, FLOW, FISH, PCR, and NGS. - Preferred:
Pharmaceutical oncology experience; scientific advanced degree.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Travel frequently; this is a field-based role with remote Northeast work location; territory includes WV, PA, MA, VT, ME, RI, CT, NY, NH, NJ.
