Position: General Practitioner with Special Interest (GPwSI) Pain Medicine

Overview

Your new role:
Via collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, this role provides specialist pain medicine clinical care to patients and assumes overall responsibility for patient care. Services provided include:

  • Provides specialist pain medicine services at Metro South Hospital and Health Service
  • Provides inpatient liaison care as needed/requested
  • Provides outpatient consultations
  • Participates in multidisciplinary clinics and meetings
  • Supervision and teaching of registrars, junior doctors and medical students, and teaching for other members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Participation and or leadership of research and quality improvement activities
About you

We are seeking a motivated Pain Medicine clinician with strong clinical expertise, leadership capability and a commitment to high-quality patient-centred care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence across clinical service delivery, education, governance and continuous improvement.

  • Proven expertise in delivering high-quality inpatient and outpatient Pain Medicine care with strong patient rapport and multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including supervision of junior medical staff and contribution to education, training and professional development
  • Strong commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, audits and safe clinical practice in high-pressure environments
  • Active engagement in research, CPD and service development, with excellent organisational skills and a continuous improvement mindset

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant. We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia s leading academic and research health centres.
