Overview
The Scheduling Specialist role involves scheduling and coordinating simple and complex patient appointments for respective clinics, both in person and over the telephone using an automated patient scheduling system. The role includes triaging patient problems, scheduling related tests and procedures, and providing appropriate patient instructions. The candidate should communicate effectively to ensure positive outcomes and develop collaborative relationships with peers, patients, providers, and visitors.
ResponsibilitiesThe Scheduling Specialist role is divided between two distinct positions:
Scheduling Specialist and Onsite Arrival Team Member. The selected candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of Onsite Arrival Team Member and perform the following:
- Work onsite at the hospital and off-site locations, welcome and check in patients for radiology appointments.
- Verify patient information, complete check-in procedures, and ensure patients are ready for their appointments.
- Assist patients with questions or concerns upon arrival.
- Assist patients with changing procedures for their appointment.
- Enter orders for Mammography and X-ray patients and assist with scheduling these procedures.
Education Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
ExperienceExperience At least six months of experience as a Scheduling Specialist I.
