Job Summary

The EVP – Tax Credit Investments will lead the TCI business line, Key State’s largest and fastest growing business. The EVP will oversee all project finance initiatives, including structuring, underwriting, and execution of tax equity and ITC transfer project finance transactions. The EVP will oversee the development, scaling, and management of the project finance team and asset management team to support the company’s rapidly growing SOLCAP renewable energy tax equity fund platform.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Leadership in Project Finance
    • Manage the entire lifecycle of structured finance transactions, including origination, underwriting, documentation, closing, and transition to asset management
    • Oversee tax equity project finance transactions, ensuring optimal structuring, modeling, and execution
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with renewable energy developers, investors, and external advisors
  • Building and Scaling Teams
    • Recruit, develop, and manage the solar finance team to support the company’s growth in project finance and deal execution
    • Establish and lead the asset management team to monitor portfolio performance and ensure effective reporting to investors and stakeholders
    • Drive innovation through process improvements and automation
  • Strategic Oversight
    • Coordinate across internal teams (business development, accounting, asset management) and external stakeholders (investors, legal, tax advisors, consultants, and engineers)
    • Support business development in securing tax equity commitments and maintaining a robust project pipeline
    • Participate as a member of Key State’s Executive Leadership Team
    • Drive process innovation, financial modeling, and reporting through improvements and automation
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting
    • Oversee preparation of financial analyses to support contract negotiations and investment decisions
    • Build and maintain financial models in Excel for internal and external use Ensure accurate and timely fund-level reporting for investors, including tax equity reporting
    • Produce corporate profitability and cash flow forecasts to inform strategic decision-making
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Represent the company in negotiations with investors, financial institutions, and developers
    • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to management, investors, and stakeholders
Minimum Education , Skills, and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA highly valued
  • 7+ years of experience in project finance, including tax equity financing and deal execution
  • Proven track record in team building, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Advanced financial modeling and MS Excel skills; proficiency in PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with competing priorities.
