Financial Manager, Financial Reporting, CFO, Accounting Manager
What You’ll Do
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, reconciliations, trust accounts, and month-end close
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Monitor cash flow and provide responsive reporting to leadership
- Lead accounts payable and receivable functions
- Partner with leadership on annual budgeting and expense management
- Provide monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis and forecasting
- Support long-term financial planning and fiscal sustainability
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, State Bar regulations, IOLTA, and all federal/state/local requirements
- Oversee corporate tax filings in collaboration with external accountants
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial policies
- Supervise and mentor finance staff
- Manage relationships with accountants and vendors
- Collaborate with the Principal Administrator to improve operational processes
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge
- Experience with budgeting and internal controls
- Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency
- CPA or equivalent certification
- Experience with law firm financial management
- Familiarity with State Bar regulations and IOLTA
Within your first 6–12 months:
- Financial statements are accurate, timely, and trusted
- Month-end close is efficient and predictable (within 10 business days)
- Budgets are realistic and clearly monitored
- Internal controls are documented and consistently followed
- Leadership has clear financial visibility for confident decision-making
- Finance operations run smoothly — with minimal surprises
- High integrity and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial data clearly
- Collaborative and adaptable leadership style
- Results-oriented mindset
