Regional Coordinator
UVM Extension's Migrant Health Program is seeking to fill two Regional Coordinator positions, to conduct field outreach to agricultural communities in the Northeast Kingdom region or the Central West region of Vermont. Each coordinator will connect with and effectively implement educational services, activities, and projects for farm workers. Identify, enroll, and support migratory agricultural youth eligible for the ESSA Title I Part C Migrant Education Program (MEP) to ensure such youth receive full and appropriate educational support services that assist them in overcoming educational disruption, cultural/language barriers, and social isolation resulting from repeated moves.
Travel extensively throughout the region in coordination with a statewide team of outreach professionals to support program objectives. Communicate effectively with a broad range of people in English and Spanish, working with interpretation services for other languages as needed.
Expected to work a minimum of 0.75 (FTE: 28.12 hours per week) with the option to increase to 1.0 (FTE: 37.5 hours per week) based on workload and funding. Probationary period of 120 days is mandatory for external applicants.
Minimum Qualifications- Undergraduate degree and one to two years’ related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Willingness to travel extensively within Vermont and work a flexible schedule, which at times will include long days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong team player capable of independently implementing coordinated work plans and using sound judgement to prioritize, respond to, and complete tasks; agility to adapt daily and weekly work plans based on factors such as participant availability, shifting needs, and weather conditions.
- Proficient in English and Spanish with demonstrated cultural humility.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with experience and capacity to work effectively with diverse audiences with different needs and interests.
- Proficient computer and multimedia telecommunication skills for work on a distributed team.
- Experience with rural farm/agricultural families and/or under-resourced populations.
- Familiarity with Vermont public school system, adult education, and healthcare/social service access.
- Experience with collaboration on a distributed team.
- Position will be based out of an Extension Field office in the territory area.
- Travel may be in inclement weather on backroads.
- Must be able to work occasional odd hours and weekends.
- Contingent on continued funding; occasional evening and/or weekend work required (if non-exempt, may result in overtime). This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy.

$21.80/hour to $25.50/hour.
