The Burlington School District is seeking a passionate and energetic Planning Room Para educator to join a team that is committed to high levels of achievement of all students. The Planning Room Para educator will work closely with the school personnel to support students who are struggling with social, emotional, behavioral, and academic engagement barriers to learning. Knowledge of Restorative Practices is essential.
The Planning Room Para educator assists professionals in the development and implementation of a constructive alternative room and in-school disciplinary program.
Support the developmental growth of each child:
Education:
- Minimum
Required:
At least two years post-secondary education or successful completion of the Praxis exam. - Preferred:
Coursework in Childhood related field (i.e. psychology, education, human development, etc.);
Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
- Preferred:
Experience working with children that have special needs.
As per the Master Agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the Paraeducators of the Burlington School District.
In addition to the base rate of pay. Intensive Needs Paras will receive a premium for hours worked directly with intensive special needs (ISN) students of $4.00 per hour.
BENEFITS:Health and life insurance benefits are available for this position after a period of 45 working days. Dental benefits are available after 1 full working year.
