Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Aquatics Director at the Alamance County Community YMCA in Burlington, NC. The Aquatics Director will oversee all aspects of the aquatic programs, including scheduling and managing swimming lessons, supervising lifeguard staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations. Responsibilities include organizing and implementing swim instruction, maintaining a safe environment in aquatics areas, and ensuring program quality.

The role also involves recruiting and training staff, maintaining equipment and facilities, and engaging with the community to promote YMCA aquatic offerings.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency and experience in Swim Instruction and Swim Lessons.
  • Knowledge and skills in Aquatics and Swimming operations and programs.
  • Certified Lifeguarding experience and ability to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifesaving;
    Water Safety Instructor or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in managing aquatic facilities and programs is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with staff, participants, and the community.
