Position Opportunity The Quality Manager will lead the team of Quality Control Technicians across all shifts at a single production location. This role ensures that product quality, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance are maintained consistently throughout operations. The Quality Manager will serve as a key link between the Quality Control Technicians, production management, and the Director of Quality, driving continuous improvement and supporting cross-departmental collaboration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Leadership & Oversight
* Supervise and schedule Quality Control Technicians across all three shifts, ensuring adequate coverage.
* Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to Quality Control Technicians.
* Conduct shift handoffs and daily reviews to ensure continuity of quality standards.
* Support staffing decisions, training, and cross-training initiatives.

Quality Control & Compliance
* Ensure adherence to GMPs, food safety standards, and customer requirements.
* Oversee daily line checks performed by QC Technicians, including product integrity (pops, aerosol, or other AFI products), brix/pH testing, label and expiration verification, and GMP audits

Quality Control Technician
* Monitor and escalate deviations, complaints, or quality issues, ensuring timely resolution.
* Partner with Production, Engineering, and Sanitation teams to correct and prevent quality issues.

Audits & Documentation
* Prepare for and support regulatory, customer, and third-party audits.
* Maintain quality documentation, reports, and data tracking, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Collaboration & Communication
* Act as the primary on-site quality leader for production management and shift supervisors.
* Ensure consistent communication of quality expectations across shifts.
* Escalate major quality issues to the Director of Quality and collaborate on corrective action planning.
* Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and food safety awareness within the QC team.#### Qualifications Qualifications Education /Training/

Certifications:

* Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
* HACCP, PCQI, SQF, or other food safety certifications preferred.

Related

Experience:

* Minimum 3–5 years of quality assurance or quality control experience in food manufacturing.
* Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.

Knowledge/Skills

Experience:

* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to lead and collaborate across multiple sites.
* Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to read and write in English.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (QMS).
* High attention to detail and the ability to analyze and interpret customer quality requirements.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires travel between multiple AFI production facilities.
