Job Summary:
The Nursing Technician supports the Registered Nurse through observing and documenting patient conditions and assisting with progressive mobility and daily tasks. Works under close supervision.
- Supports patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and progressive mobility.
- Assesses patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination.
- Admits, transfers, and discharges patients in line with the plan of care.
- Assists with clinical procedures such as monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, obtaining EKGs, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs.
- Maintains unit inventories of supplies and medical equipment to ensure a safe environment, adhering to National Patient Safety Goals.
- Ensures fall‑risk patients have appropriate arm bands, socks, and signage for safety.
- Documents all clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use to maintain a detailed patient history.
- Responds promptly to delegation from registered nurse staff and shares patient observations for efficient collaboration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR) – American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
