We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics Specialist to support raw material purchasing, inventory control, and logistics operations for a high‑volume manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring uninterrupted production by managing raw material procurement, monitoring inventory levels, coordinating on‑site operations, and supporting finished goods logistics.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in manufacturing supply chains, is comfortable working onsite with production teams, and can balance cost, service, and efficiency across the end‑to‑end supply chain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Raw Material Procurement
- Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders for raw materials and operating supplies
- Align purchasing activities with production schedules and shipping requirements
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and identify new vendors as needed
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendor delays or quality issues and escalate when necessary
- Track market trends and recommend sourcing strategies
- Inventory Management & On‑Site Operations
- Monitor inventory levels through ERP (SAP preferred) to ensure material availability
- Coordinate resin pumping operations from rail cars to silos
- Conduct daily production floor walk‑throughs to assess inventory and material usage
- Maintain and distribute inventory tracking and reporting tools
- Analyze inventory data to improve turns, reduce waste, and support customer demand
- Assist with annual physical inventory counts
- Collaborate with suppliers on vendor‑managed inventory programs
- Logistics & Warehouse Coordination
- Coordinate raw material movement from vendors and third‑party warehouses
- Support third‑party warehouse operations and vendor relationships
- Serve as backup support for shipping & receiving and finished goods logistics when needed
- Assist in establishing and maintaining inventory control procedures
- Process Improvement & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Procurement, and Logistics teams
- Support ERP optimization and automation initiatives related to procurement and planning
- Develop and implement process improvements across the supply chain
- Participate in cross‑functional committees and continuous improvement initiatives
- Help define and track supply chain performance metrics
- Education
- Associate degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, or related field)
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or inventory management
- Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred
- Warehouse and logistics coordination experience required
- Project leadership or team coordination experience a plus
- Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain operations
- ERP experience required (SAP preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with internal teams and vendors
- Ability to work independently while collaborating cross‑functionally
- Detail‑oriented with strong time‑management skills
- Knowledge of domestic freight and shipping coordination preferred
- Import/export and customs knowledge a plus
- APICS / ASCM certification or membership is an asset
- Indirect responsibility for managing raw material spend of approximately $80M annually
- No direct supervisory responsibilities
- Work environment includes both plant and office settings
- PPE required on plant floor
