Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a travel contract. This role requires a highly skilled OR nurse with extensive Level I trauma experience and the ability to independently handle complex surgical procedures including transplant, cardiac, and vascular cases in a large hospital setting.
The OR RN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure safe and efficient surgical care for patients undergoing advanced procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Operating Room
- Assist surgical teams during complex procedures including transplant, cardiac, and vascular surgeries
- Prepare surgical suites and maintain sterile technique
- Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and patient safety standards
- Document care using Epic EMR
- Active RN License
- Minimum 5+ years of Operating Room experience
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Experience in a large hospital setting
- Ability to independently circulate complex surgical cases
- Strong experience in transplant, cardiac, and vascular procedures
Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted Epic EMR experience required
