- Process prescription requests while building trusted customer relationships and demonstrating patience, empathy, care, and compassion
- Troubleshoot rejected insurance claims and address issues to achieve the best outcome for customers
- Follow department processes and procedures to input information, dispense medication, and verify information
- Ensure the department is running smoothly by assisting with tasks, maintaining appropriate inventory levels through ordering, and rotating and stocking drugs and other supplies
- Properly handle products, use equipment, keep accurate logs, and follow sanitation practices
- Computer skills
- Ability to perform basic math, including arithmetic, fractions, ratios, and calculating daily supply
- State specific:
May require pharmacy technician certification - New Jersey applicants must be at least 18+ and have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy technician experience
- Pharmacy technician certification

In some of the states in which we operate, certification and/or state registration is required to work as a Pharmacy Technician. In these areas Wegmans may hire individuals prior to them obtaining the necessary qualifications, while supporting them through the process. At participating locations, Board Certified Pharmacy Technicians will earn a $.50/hour shift differential.

Work EnvironmentThe physical demands of this work are classified as light. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive forceful pinching and grasping, bending, and lifting, frequent use of a computer and telephone, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 1 – 10 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 35 pounds rarely.
Upper extremity repetition is moderate and trunk movement involves moderately low twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors. Basic tools and equipment used include cash register, computer, telephone, pill counter, and pharmacy and office supplies.;
Certified Pharmacy Technician PTCB - PTCB:
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board;
Experience ordering products and controlling inventory;
Pharmacy Technician or Support Center Representative experience
