We are supporting a leading biopharmaceutical organization in Massachusetts seeking a Senior Process Engineer with deep, hands‑on expertise in commercial‑scale spray drying within GMP manufacturing environments. This is a high‑visibility engagement supporting advanced oligonucleotide production at commercial scale.
This is not a pilot or lab role. We are looking for engineers who have owned spray drying unit operations in real GMP production environments. This opportunity is ideal for senior process engineers who have led complex spray drying systems at commercial scale and are looking to support a high‑impact manufacturing engagement.
Responsibilities- Provide senior‑level process engineering support for commercial spray drying systems
- Support process scale‑up, tech transfer, and equipment optimization
- Lead troubleshooting related to yield, particle size, throughput, and process performance
- Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, URS documentation, and technical specifications
- Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup activities
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure compliant execution
- 10–15+ years of process engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or CDMO environments
- Direct hands‑on experience with commercial‑scale spray drying equipment
- Experience in solvent‑heavy GMP production environments
- Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing requirements
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and operational troubleshooting
- Oligonucleotide or RNA therapeutic manufacturing
- Commercial API or complex drug substance production
- Equipment lifecycle ownership from design through startup
