Senior Scientist

Our client, a fast-paced product development leader, is seeking a creative Principal Scientist to join their growing team. They are seeking an expert in thermodynamics who can guide the technical direction of product development work involving various forms of air treatment including: refrigeration, combustion, fluid flow, heating, convection, cooling, drying, propulsion and radiation. They will have a deep understanding of Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) modeling, data analysis and interpretation as well as reacting flow and heat transfer analysis and modeling.

The Principal Scientist will also have expertise in instrumentation, laboratory methods as well as lab notebooks and documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a high level of proficiency in developing solutions to challenging issues and have both experimental and analytical skills. They will use those skills to be a resource for reviewing new project challenges and determining directions and methods and will be a SME for others on the engineering team. • Ph.D. in Engineering, Mechanical preferred.
• ~20 years of engineering experience in research and development, demonstrating the development of technical and manufacturable solutions.
• Previous experience in a ‘for profit’ environment as well as academia would be ideal.
• Project leadership and technical mentoring skills.
• Working knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, rapid prototyping, sheet metal fabrication, casting, and machining.
• High level of personal commitment to quality, with demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail in all phases of a project.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, highlighted by a flexible and collaborative working style.
• US citizen or legal residency required due to the nature of the work.
