Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer IV for a Contract with a client in Burlington, MA
. Candidate must demonstrate strong mechanical engineering leadership for LVAD development, with proven capability in designing and validating implantable Class III device components.
Rate Range: $65/hour to $68/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities
- Specify and validate mechanical components and subsystems for LVADs in alignment with regulatory and quality standards.
- Apply empirical, numerical, and experimental analysis (FEA, CFD, etc.) to optimize designs for performance and reliability.
- Develop and execute test methods and simulation models to mitigate design risks and ensure device robustness.
- Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and detailed documentation including CAD models, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to support full product lifecycle activities from concept to commercialization.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal partners to source prototype and production components effectively.
- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related STEM field.
- 6+ years of experience in mechanical design and development within the medical device domain.
- Candidate must have strong proficiency in CAD tools such as Solid Works and FEA tools like COMSOL.
- Must demonstrate expertise in materials, manufacturing processes, and design for reliability in regulated environments.

Pay Details$65.00 to $68.00 per hour
