Job Description

We are looking for a talented Mechanical/Piping Estimator to join our dedicated team at one of our offices in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, Burlington, Massachusetts, Cary, North Carolina, or Irvine/Emeryville, California
.
In this role, you will perform all estimating functions and oversee the practice of estimating for IPS on pharmaceutical construction and design projects. You will also provide estimating services to projects and business development efforts and may assist the Associate/Senior Director of Estimating in supervising Estimating department personnel.
Additional Responsibilities Estimate Development- Prepares estimates using models, drawings, specifications, narratives/reports, scopes, and other project information as input.
- Works with all project personnel to coordinate the acquisition of input information for the full development of the project estimate.
- Reviews design options and recommend the best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
- Maintains files of project estimates and supporting backup documentation for reference during reviews and project execution to support any requests that may come in from teams.
- Works with project teams to monitor project implementation for compliance with the basis of the project estimate as required, including organizing estimate line items into Bid Packages as part of the Procurement Process.
- Supports the project team when called upon for subcontract and purchase order awards reviews, which may include, but are not limited to, comparison of awarded costs to budgeted costs, determining the basis for variances, and adjusting estimating systems, models, and unit pricing to adjust future estimates.
- Provide TVD leadership, support, and estimating trends.
- Manages TVD Trend Log when required.
- Provides change order assessment and support when required.
- May include full takeoff and estimating of change to compare to trade partner or vendor submissions.
- Utilizes and oversees the maintenance & development of estimating software programs for the department, as well as monitors the training of others on how to use the program.
- Ensures consistency across the department.
- Evaluates historical data, including but not limited to purchase orders, subcontracts, labor hours information, market data, etc., and works with department personnel to regularly incorporate relevant data into company unit cost, material, and labor factors.
- Maintains relationships in the industry to facilitate the acquisition of estimating data and processes.
- Collaborates with the CM Dept. Admin & Department Leadership on the estimating schedule files and support the weekly coordination meeting.
- Mentor personnel for all facets of estimating, evaluates opportunities for their improvement and advancement, and develops annual performance goals.
- Regularly looks for ways to make continuous improvements to all estimating methods, services, forms, etc.

* For applicants located in the state of Massachusetts, the salary offered for this role is between $149,000 and $199,000, but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.
* For applicants located in Irvine, California, the salary offered for this role is between $152,000 and $200,000, but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.
* For applicants located in Emeryville, California, the salary offered for this role is between $159,000 and $210,000, but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.
Qualifications & Requirements- 7+ years of experience with Mechanical/Piping estimating activities on pharma construction projects
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Estimating, Construction management, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, OR 10+ years of experience in a related field.
- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying working conditions.
- Must be able to adhere to strict cleanroom gowning protocol.
- This position will have 10% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
- You may be assigned to the client site for an extended period.
- Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client's location is possible, depending on the assignment.

- You will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
- Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.
