Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Burlington, Massachusetts. This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a leading manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in fixed asset accounting and corporate tax, coupled with strong organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

- Manage fixed asset accounting, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of assets.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain an up-to-date general ledger.

- Handle corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

- Oversee sales tax reporting and filing processes.

- Collaborate with the finance team to support day-to-day accounting operations.

- Utilize Oracle systems to streamline accounting tasks and maintain financial records.

- Conduct detailed reviews of financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

- Assist with tax-related documentation and audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Provide support for month-end and year-end close processes.

Requirements

- Proven experience in fixed asset accounting within a corporate environment.

- Strong understanding of corporate tax and sales tax regulations.

- Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.

- Demonstrated expertise in managing corporate tax returns.

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Prior experience in manufacturing or a similar industry is preferred.
