Accounting Manager - Operational & SEC

Responsibilities

KBW Financial is seeking an Accounting Manager for a growing biotech in the Boston area. This role will be responsible for GL accounting, GAAP and technical accounting matters, SOX compliance, and SEC reporting support. Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days per week in office. Additional details include:

• GL accounting, monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, accruals (R&D and clinical), and account reconciliations
• Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for key accounts
• Support timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Implementing new processes and systems
• SOX compliance and internal controls
• Coordinate external auditors
• Oversee one or more accountants
• Ad-hoc projects as required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• 4+ years of experience including public accounting
• Biotech industry experience
• Familiarity with R&D accruals, clinical trial accounting, and SOX is a plus
• GAAP compliance experience
• Strong communication skills
• Advanced Excel

Compensation: $120k - 115k Base + Bonus
