AP Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented AP Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Burlington, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments, and maintaining financial records. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficiency of financial operations in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

- Monitor the accounts payable mailbox to track incoming invoices for processing and payment.

- Review and process invoices with proper approvals to ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.

- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices by collaborating with the purchasing team.

- Conduct research and reconciliation of vendor accounts to maintain accurate records.

- Support initiatives aimed at improving accounts payable workflows and processes.

- Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts payable transactions.

- Maintain the general ledger by ensuring accurate documentation of financial activities.

- Assist with sales tax and corporate tax-related tasks as required.

- Ensure compliance with corporate tax return procedures and regulations.

Requirements

- Proficiency in accounts payable processes and practices.

- Experience with corporate tax procedures, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

- Ability to research and reconcile vendor accounts effectively.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with internal teams and vendors.

- Familiarity with financial systems and tools used in accounting.

- Previous experience in a similar accounting or finance role is preferred.
